01Our commitment
We want every professional tracking their continuing education to be able to use RecertHero regardless of ability or the tools they browse with. Accessibility is treated as part of building the product, not an afterthought: it is considered when we design components, reviewed when we change them, and audited across the whole site.
This is an ongoing effort. Accessibility is never “finished” — as we add features we introduce new ways to get things wrong, so we keep testing, keep fixing, and keep this statement up to date.
02Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for making web content more accessible. RecertHero aims to conform to WCAG 2.2 at Level AA.
RecertHero is partially conformantwith WCAG 2.2 Level AA. “Partially conformant” means that most of the content meets the standard, but some parts — noted under Known limitations — do not yet fully conform. Following the review described in Section 7, we remediated the issues we found across colour contrast, keyboard operability, focus visibility, form labelling, semantic structure, and pointer target sizes; the remaining items are being worked through.
03Measures we take to support accessibility
Concrete things RecertHero does today to support accessibility include:
- Skip to content.A “Skip to main content” link is the first thing keyboard users reach on every page, so they can bypass the navigation.
- Semantic structure and landmarks. Pages use real headings and HTML landmark regions (navigation, main, footer), and the current page or step is marked programmatically for assistive technology.
- Full keyboard operability. Interactive elements are reachable and operable with a keyboard, dialogs trap and restore focus, and a clearly visible focus indicator shows where you are.
- Colour contrast. Text, interface borders, and focus indicators are chosen to meet the WCAG AA contrast thresholds, and we never use colour as the only way to convey information.
- Labelled forms and clear errors. Form fields have associated labels, and validation errors are announced to assistive technology, not signalled by colour alone.
- Text alternatives. Meaningful images and data visualisations expose a text alternative; purely decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
- Respecting user preferences. When your system asks for reduced motion, we switch off non-essential animation. The site does not lock screen orientation, and content reflows and remains usable at 200% zoom and on small screens.
- Adequate target sizes. Buttons, links, and controls are sized (or given enough surrounding space) to be comfortable to tap and click.
- Accessible sign-in. Signing in does not require solving a puzzle or other cognitive test; email-and-password, magic-link, and third-party sign-in options are available, and password managers work normally.
04Technical specifications
Accessibility of RecertHero relies on the following technologies to work with your browser and any assistive technologies you use:
- HTML
- WAI-ARIA
- CSS
- JavaScript
Core content and navigation are rendered on the server and remain available as structured HTML. JavaScript enhances interactive features (dialogs, menus, filtering, and forms); these are built to expose the correct roles, names, and states to assistive technology.
05Compatibility with browsers and assistive technology
RecertHero is designed to work with recent versions of major browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari) on desktop and mobile, used together with current assistive technologies such as NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, and TalkBack.
It may not work perfectly with browsers or assistive technologies that are more than a couple of major versions old, or with combinations we have not been able to test. If you hit a problem with a specific setup, please tell us — see Section 8.
06Known limitations
Despite our efforts, some parts of RecertHero are not yet fully accessible. We are aware of the following and are working to resolve them:
- Legacy account pages. A few utility pages (for example magic-link sign-in, unsubscribe, and the checkout placeholder) still use an older header and footer whose navigation differs slightly from the rest of the site. They are keyboard accessible, but we are consolidating them onto the current layout for a fully consistent experience.
- Sequential-colour data visualisations. Some charts — such as the yearly activity heat-map — use a graded colour scale where adjacent shades can be hard to tell apart for some users. The underlying numbers are always available as text so no information is lost.
- Third-party components. A small number of features embed services we do not fully control — payment checkout is handled by Stripe and bot protection by Cloudflare — so their accessibility depends in part on those providers.
This list reflects what we currently know about. If you find a barrier that is not listed here, we would genuinely like to hear about it.
07How we assessed the site
RecertHero assessed the accessibility of this site by self-evaluation. In July 2026 we carried out a structured internal review of the whole product against WCAG 2.2 Level AA, covering:
- colour and non-text contrast;
- keyboard operability, focus order, and focus visibility;
- semantic structure — landmarks, headings, tables, and status messages;
- form labelling, error handling, and sign-in;
- pointer target sizes, images and text alternatives, reflow, zoom, orientation, and motion.
The issues identified in that review were prioritised and remediated, and we retest as we ship changes. We have not yet commissioned an independent third-party audit; if we do, we will update this section.

09Formal complaints
We take accessibility concerns seriously and would always prefer the chance to put things right first. If you contact us about an accessibility problem and are not satisfied with our response, you may be able to escalate it to the body responsible for enforcing accessibility requirements in your jurisdiction — for example a national equality or disability-rights authority in the European Union or United Kingdom, or the relevant authority under the Americans with Disabilities Act in the United States.
