01Agreement to terms
By accessing or using the Service, by creating an account, by clicking a button or checkbox indicating your acceptance, or by otherwise signaling your assent, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and “you” refers to both you individually and that organization.
02Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement in your jurisdiction. The Service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn we have collected information from a child under 18 we will delete it; please contact us at hello@recerthero.com if you believe a child has provided us information.
You may not use the Service if you are barred from doing so under the laws of the United States or any other jurisdiction, or if you are on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
03The Service
RecertHero is an independent aggregator and tracking tool for information-technology continuing-education (CE) opportunities. We index publicly listed webinars, courses, vendor training, podcasts, and similar resources from third-party providers, classify them against common IT certifications, and offer features that help professionals discover, save, and track CE credits for renewal cycles.
What the Service is not
RecertHero is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by (ISC)2, CompTIA, ISACA, Cisco, EC-Council, or any other certifying body. We do not award credits, issue certifications, or verify completion to certifying bodies. Credit estimates shown in the Service are guidance only; they are derived from provider-stated values where available and from rules-based estimation otherwise, and may differ from the credits a certifying body ultimately accepts. You are solely responsible for confirming the eligibility, credit value, and completion requirements of any activity with the relevant certifying body before relying on it for your renewal.
04Accounts
Some features (saving opportunities, tracking credits, accessing your dashboard) require an account. You agree to provide accurate information when you register and to keep it current. You are responsible for safeguarding your sign-in credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly at hello@recerthero.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
Each account is for one person. You may not share, sell, or transfer your account.
05Plans and trials
RecertHero offers a Free tier and a paid Pro tier. Current plan features and prices are described on our Pricing page, which is incorporated by reference. We may change plan features or prices for new subscriptions or new billing cycles on prior notice as described in Section 17; price changes will not retroact to a billing period you have already paid for.
Free trial
Pro subscriptions may begin with a free trial period (the “Trial”) of the length stated at checkout. A valid payment method is required to start the Trial: we collect and authorize it through our payment processor at the start of the Trial, but we do not charge your payment method until the Trial ends. If you cancel before the Trial ends, no charge is made. If you do not cancel before the Trial ends, your subscription automatically converts to a paid subscription and your payment method is charged the then-current price for your plan.
Founding-member pricing
For a limited number of subscribers, we offer a discounted annual “founding-member” price that, once locked in by a paid subscription, will not increase on renewal so long as the subscription remains in continuous good standing. Founding-member pricing is not portable to a different plan or to a re-subscription after cancellation; cancelling a founding-member subscription forfeits the locked price. The number of founding-member slots and their price are stated on the Pricing page.
06Billing and cancellation
Paid plans are billed in advance, are non-transferable, and renew automatically at the end of each billing period for the same period and at the then-current price for your plan, unless you cancel before the renewal date. We use Stripe, Inc. as our payment processor; your card details are handled by Stripe under its own terms and never stored on RecertHero servers.
Cancellation
You may cancel a paid subscription at any time from your account settings or from the Stripe billing portal accessible there. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain Pro access for the remainder of that period and then revert to the Free tier. Your saved opportunities, certifications, and activity log are preserved and remain accessible read-only on the Free tier.
Refunds
Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable, whether for unused time on a billing period, partial cycles, or downgrades. We may, at our sole discretion, offer prorated refunds for outage events or other extraordinary circumstances. Trial users are never charged so long as they cancel before the Trial ends.
Failed payments
If a renewal payment fails, we will retry it for a reasonable period and notify you by email. If payment is not made, your account will revert to the Free tier without prior charge.
07User suggestions
Through the “Suggest an opportunity” feature you can share URLs and optional descriptions for opportunities you think we should index (collectively, “Suggestions”).
Your representations
By submitting a Suggestion, you represent and warrant that:
- you have the right to share the URL and any description text you provide;
- the URL is publicly accessible and does not require unauthorized credentials to view;
- your Suggestion does not infringe any third party’s intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights, and does not violate any applicable law; and
- you are not subject to a confidentiality, non-disclosure, or similar obligation with respect to the content of the linked page.
License to RecertHero
You grant RecertHero a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, modify, create derivative works of (e.g., excerpts, summaries, classifications), distribute, publicly display, and publicly perform any Suggestion, in any media now known or later developed, for the purpose of operating, promoting, and improving the Service. This license survives termination of your account with respect to Suggestions already published.
Review and removal
We review Suggestions before they appear on the public site and may accept, reject, edit, or later remove any Suggestion at our sole discretion and without notice.
08Acceptable use
You agree that you will not, and will not attempt to:
- access, scrape, harvest, or extract data from the Service by any automated means (including bots, crawlers, or scripts) except as expressly permitted by our robots.txt and published API, if any;
- impose an unreasonable or disproportionate load on our infrastructure, including by circumventing or attempting to circumvent any rate limits, captchas, or other anti-abuse mechanisms;
- reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Service or any component of it;
- use the Service to send spam, phishing, malware, or any unsolicited or unlawful communication;
- submit false, misleading, or fraudulent Suggestions, or use the Service in furtherance of any fraud;
- access another user’s account, impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation;
- probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or breach any security or authentication measures (other than good-faith security research conducted under a written authorization from us);
- use the Service in violation of any law, regulation, or third-party right; or
- resell, sublicense, lease, or commercially redistribute the Service or any data obtained from it without our prior written consent.
09Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics, compilations of opportunities, classifications, credit estimates, and other content (excluding User Suggestions and third-party content), is owned by RecertHero or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, RecertHero grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your personal professional development. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
10Third-party content
The Service surfaces links to opportunities, courses, providers, and certifying bodies operated by third parties. We do not control those sites or the content on them, are not responsible for them, and do not endorse them. Your access to and use of any third-party site is at your own risk and subject to that site’s own terms and privacy practices.
11Copyright (DMCA)
We respect the intellectual-property rights of others and respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent containing all the elements required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3):
- a physical or electronic signature of the owner (or an authorized agent);
- identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed;
- identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing, with sufficient detail to permit us to locate it (e.g., the URL on our Service);
- your contact information (address, telephone, email);
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or are authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.
Send notices to our designated DMCA agent at hello@recerthero.com (with the subject line “DMCA Notice”) and by mail to:

If we remove or disable access to content in response to a DMCA notice, we will use commercially reasonable efforts to notify the affected user, who may submit a counter-notice as provided in 17 U.S.C. § 512(g). Misrepresentation of infringement may subject you to liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).
12Trademarks
“RecertHero” is the trade name under which Riflebird Technologies LLC operates the Service. It is not currently registered as a trademark; we nevertheless reserve common-law rights in the name and the RecertHero logo as used in commerce.
Third-party names, marks, and logos referenced in the Service (such as CISSP, CCSP, Security+, CySA+, CISA, CISM, CompTIA, ISACA, Cisco, (ISC)2, and similar) are the property of their respective owners. Their use is for nominative reference only and does not imply affiliation, sponsorship, endorsement, or partnership.
13Disclaimers
The Service, including all opportunity listings, credit estimates, recommendations, dashboards, and other content, is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. RecertHero disclaims all warranties, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement, and any warranties arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.
Without limiting the foregoing, we do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free; that defects will be corrected; that any opportunity, credit estimate, or classification is accurate, complete, current, or accepted by any certifying body; or that the Service will meet your requirements. You assume full responsibility and risk for your use of the Service and for verifying credit eligibility with the relevant certifying body.
14Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will RecertHero, its affiliates, or its or their officers, directors, employees, agents, suppliers, or licensors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, lost goodwill, or cost of substitute services, arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, regardless of the legal theory and whether or not we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total cumulative liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you have paid us for the Service in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages; in such jurisdictions, the foregoing exclusions and limitations apply only to the maximum extent permitted by law, and nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (including, in the EU and UK, liability for death, personal injury, or fraud).
15Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless RecertHero and its affiliates and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or relating to (a) your access to or use of the Service in violation of these Terms or any applicable law, (b) any Suggestion you submit, (c) your violation of any third-party right, including any intellectual-property, privacy, or publicity right, or (d) any dispute between you and any third party. We reserve the right to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you, in which case you agree to cooperate with our defense.
16Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. You may delete your account from your account settings; deletion is described in our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law, if your account has been inactive for an extended period, if continuing to provide the Service to you would expose us to legal liability, or if we discontinue the Service. Upon termination, the rights and licenses granted to you in these Terms will end immediately; sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 7, 9, 13, 14, 15, 18, 19, and 21) will survive.
17Changes
We may modify these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will provide notice — for example, by posting the updated Terms on this page with a new effective date and, for material changes affecting your rights or obligations, by emailing the address associated with your account at least thirty (30) days before the change takes effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. If you do not agree, your remedy is to stop using the Service and cancel your account before the change takes effect.
18Dispute resolution — informal resolution, binding arbitration, and class-action waiver
Please read this section carefully. It affects your legal rights, including your right to file a lawsuit in court.
Informal resolution first
Before filing a claim against the other party, you and RecertHero agree to try to resolve the dispute informally. You will send a written notice describing the claim and the relief sought to hello@recerthero.com (with the subject “Legal Notice”). RecertHero will send any notice to the email address on your account. The parties will then try in good faith to resolve the dispute within sixty (60) days of receipt. Only after that period may a claim be brought in arbitration.
Binding individual arbitration
Except as provided below, you and RecertHero agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service (a “Dispute”) will be resolved by binding individual arbitrationadministered by the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules then in effect, modified by these Terms. The arbitration will be conducted by a single arbitrator in the English language. If your claims do not exceed US $25,000 and you so elect, the arbitration may be conducted solely on the basis of written submissions; otherwise, the arbitration will be conducted by telephone, video, or (if you so elect) in person in Virginia or another mutually agreed location.
The Federal Arbitration Act (9 U.S.C. §§ 1 et seq.) governs the interpretation and enforcement of this arbitration agreement. Judgment on the arbitrator’s award may be entered in any court with jurisdiction.
Class and representative-action waiver
You and RecertHero each waive the right to participate in a class action, class arbitration, representative action, or private-attorney-general action. Claims must be brought in the parties’ individual capacities only. The arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person’s claims or preside over any form of representative or class proceeding. If this class-and-representative-action waiver is found unenforceable as to a particular claim or remedy, then that claim or remedy (and only that claim or remedy) will be severed from arbitration and brought in court, while all other claims will continue in arbitration.
Exceptions
Nothing in this section requires arbitration of: (i) small-claims-court actions that proceed on an individual (non-class) basis; (ii) actions to enjoin or prevent infringement, misappropriation, or violation of intellectual-property rights; or (iii) any claim that cannot be subject to a pre-dispute arbitration agreement under applicable law.
Opt-out
You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by sending written notice of your decision within thirty (30) days of the date you first accept these Terms to hello@recerthero.com with the subject “Arbitration Opt-Out.” The notice must include your full name, the email address associated with your account, and a clear statement that you want to opt out of arbitration. Opting out will not affect any other provision of these Terms.
19Governing law and venue
These Terms and any Dispute are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles, and by U.S. federal law where applicable. For any Dispute not subject to arbitration under Section 18, you and RecertHero submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Virginia, and you waive any objection to venue or inconvenient forum.
The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply to these Terms.
20International users
The Service is operated from the United States. By using the Service, you consent to your information being transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. See our Privacy Policy for details on international data transfers and the safeguards we use.
If you are a consumer in the European Union or United Kingdom, these Terms do not exclude or limit your statutory rights as a consumer that cannot be waived under applicable law. In particular, the arbitration agreement and class-action waiver in Section 18 do not apply to claims that you can only bring before a court under applicable consumer-protection law.
21Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any other documents incorporated by reference, constitute the entire agreement between you and RecertHero about the Service and supersede all prior or contemporaneous agreements, communications, and proposals.
- Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
- Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your account without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms without your consent in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of substantially all our assets, or by operation of law.
- Notices to you may be made by email to the address associated with your account or by posting on the Service. Notices to us must be sent to hello@recerthero.com and, for formal legal notices, also by certified mail to our registered-agent address below.
- Headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation. References to a section include all subsections.
- U.S. government users.If you are a U.S. government end-user, you acquire the Service as “Commercial Items” (48 C.F.R. § 2.101) with only those rights granted to commercial customers under these Terms.
